School Closure Tuesday, November 22nd

IMPORTANT UPDATE

A second alert will be sent out this afternoon. School will remain in session for the remainder of today and student transportation will remain the same.

Dear Brockway Elementary School Families and Staff,

We have been battling illnesses within our student and staff population over the last week. Our student attendance rate, today, is 65%. Our families are reporting illnesses of Influenza A & B, RSV, and common cold. We have a significant number of staff battling through these, as well.

Therefore, we will be cancelling school for Tuesday, November 22, 2022. School will resume on Monday, November 28, 2022. We will take the opportunity to deep clean each of our classrooms. We will have extra custodial staff helping and we are working with our vendors to sanitize our building. In consultation with Dr. Dannenhoffer, our County Health Officer, he believes that this effort along with the Thanksgiving Holiday break will give our students and staff time to heal and slow the spread of these illnesses.

We recognize the impact this has on our students and families. We work very hard to avoid school closures, and we thank you for your support to keep our students, staff, and families healthy during this time.

This closure is for Brockway Elementary School only. Our facilities will be closed to the public and community on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 through Sunday, November 27, 2022.
